[This is an archived post from the previous website. The date does not reflect when the event took place.] Save A Kitty, Inc., was tipped about a horrific cat hoarding situation in Granada Hills, California. What we found inside was terrible.
In many cases, hoarders can start out as well-intentioned individuals who just get in over-their-head. This was NOT the case in this instance. These poor cats were not even remotely being cared for: none were spayed or neutered, the cats and kittens were starving to death, and all of them were extremely sick and either dying or already dead. With the help of SPCA and many local Southern California rescue groups, Save A Kitty did not stop until every cat was out of that horrific situation. Within a month, Save A Kitty, Inc. had spent over $4,000 on medical expenses. While the hoarder refused to allow the cameras inside the home, we did get some video of the operation outside. We usually have kittens year-round, but many more in spring, summer, and fall.
Below are some videos of our trapping escapades in San Fernando. The kittens in these videos, were all eventually placed into loving homes. If you are interested in adopting one of our beautiful kitties, please see our Event page to find out when and where we will be holding adoptions so you can come and see our beautiful kitties in person. |
